Commission rates vary by travel partner, usually falling between 10–25%, with an average around 12%. As the Travel Curator, you’ll keep 70% of that commission.

HOTE’s base commission split starts at 70%, but the more you sell, the more you earn. Once your total bookings hit $250K, your split increases to 75% and it keeps growing from there.

How do I find clients?

Start with your own network—pitch yourself to friends and family. HOTE will also send leads your way, and you’re free to market yourself through advertising, social media, and networking events.

How much can I make as a travel advisor?

Your earnings depend on the supplier’s commission and your split with HOTE. Advisors start at a 70% split—the more you sell, the more you make.

Do I need to do this as a full-time job?

Not at all. You can be a travel curator part-time or full-time—your schedule is totally flexible.

What are the benefits of becoming a curator with HOTE Travel?

You’re joining an established brand with access to our branding materials, a HOTE email address, and 100 business cards to start. You’ll be part of the HOTE community, where you’ll go through guided training, access educational recordings and resources, connect with other curators, and receive mentorship from agency executives. You’ll also get accounts for our systems (with training), E&O insurance, a profile on the HOTE site, and lead generation support from our marketing.

How much does it cost to join HOTE Travel?

We offer two models: $50/month or $500/year. There’s also a one-time $49 sign-up fee.

Are there any qualifications to becoming a travel advisor?

No, there are no official qualifications, but a passion for sales and planning is recommended—along with a drive to succeed.
